About Helm Coffee
Helm Coffee on Shelby Street is a Garfield Park specialty coffee roastery café in Indianapolis.
It was founded in late 2021 by Jillion Potter and Carol Fabrizio.
Potter, a former captain of the US Olympic women's rugby team, learned roasting at Coda Coffee in Denver, and Helm roasts on a Mill City Roasters machine beside the bar. The 1,800-square-foot room pairs concrete floors and exposed rafters with couches, rugs and plants, and the menu includes batch brew, manual drip, cold brew, house chai and house-made alternative milks, with pastries. Café hours are limited, so check before visiting.
Brewing espresso, v60, batch brew, cold brew — roasted in-house.
