Terms of service

Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Vereda, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. By creating an account or using the Vereda app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Vereda.

Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use Vereda.
• You're responsible for your account, your credentials, and activity under it. Keep your password secure and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Using Vereda

Vereda lets you discover cafés and roasters, check in, write reviews and tasting notes, add photos, suggest edits, and maintain a coffee passport. You agree to use it lawfully and respectfully. You won't:

• Post false, misleading, defamatory, hateful, or unlawful content, or reviews you didn't genuinely experience.
• Spam, manipulate ratings, impersonate others, or misrepresent your affiliation with a venue.
• Upload content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes others' rights or privacy.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Misuse location or other features to harass or harm anyone.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting it, you grant Vereda a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the app and our related promotion of the service. You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

Community contributions

Vereda is built partly on community contributions—suggested edits, photos, and venue details. Contributions may be reviewed, edited, accepted, or rejected, and accepted contributions become part of the shared Vereda directory. Points and levels are for recognition only, have no monetary value, and may change.

Cafés, roasters & business accounts

• If you claim and manage a venue, you confirm you're authorized to act for that business.
• Paid subscription plans for venues are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) on the cycle shown at purchase, and renew until cancelled.
• You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
• Some features—such as a Buy button—depend on an active paid plan, and may change.

Intellectual property

Vereda, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don't grant you any right to our branding except as needed to use the app normally.

Third-party services

Vereda uses third-party services (such as maps, places data, payments, and links to external sites). We're not responsible for third-party content or services, which are governed by their own terms.

Disclaimers

Vereda is provided "as is" and "as available." Venue details, hours, menus, and bean information are community- and partner-sourced and may be inaccurate or out of date—please verify what matters to you. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vereda won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

Termination

You can stop using Vereda and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Cluj-Napoca, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

Changes

We may update these Terms as Vereda evolves. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Vereda after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
