About ST. ALi Coffee Roasters
St Ali is a South Melbourne specialty coffee roaster and café group, founded in 2005 by Mark Dundon in a converted warehouse on Yarra Place.
Dundon began roasting on site to supply the café and a few retail customers. Salvatore Malatesta bought the business in 2008 and made it the flagship of a group that includes Sensory Lab, Auction Rooms and Clement, with venues in Melbourne, Brisbane and Bali. The company says it has shaped Australian café culture since 2005. Its business address is on Lorimer Street, Port Melbourne. Broadsheet calls the Yarra Place café one of the first of Melbourne's specialty boom.
