Smart Coffee Roastery is a specialty coffee roaster on Rūdolfa Blaumaņa iela in Sigulda, roasting on site and running a café alongside the roaster.
The roastery works in three roast profiles, light, medium and dark, with freshly roasted coffees drawn from several growing regions. Its site explains each stage of a roast, from drying through browning to development, and how roast level changes acidity and flavour. Visitors can watch the roasting process.
Barista-led masterclasses cover tasting and brewing, and the space is pet friendly, which makes it an easy coffee stop on a day trip to the Gauja valley town. Beans are sold to take home.
