About Blackboard Coffee Roasters
Blackboard Coffee is a Gold Coast specialty coffee roaster founded in 2011 by Nick Pearce, then 19, which roasts its beans in a Burleigh Heads warehouse.
Its café in Varsity Lakes has grown into a 183-seat venue, and the business is split into Blackboard Café Academy, for roasting and training, and the café, plus a mobile coffee truck. Its beans are sold worldwide, and its Seasonal Espresso Blend is poured at cafés such as Ground Up Espresso in Toowoomba and Bayleaf Café in Byron Bay.
