About Artificer Coffee
Artificer Coffee is a Surry Hills, Sydney specialty coffee roaster and coffee bar run by Dan Yee and Shoji Sasa.
Yee previously worked at Salvage, and Sasa at Mecca and Single Origin. The owners roast each coffee to suit its own qualities rather than a house profile, and describe their focus as the link between selection, roasting and brewing. They buy small amounts often, without pre-shipment samples, so new coffees arrive regularly. The Bourke Street bar is minimal, with American oak and few stools, and serves no food. Broadsheet's 2026 Sydney coffee guide calls the roasts clean and bright.
