About Afterglow Coffee Cooperative

Afterglow Coffee Cooperative on Summit Avenue is a Richmond specialty coffee roaster and café in Scott's Addition.

It calls itself the city's first worker-owned coffee roaster and café.

Afterglow roasts sustainably produced, traceable coffees, such as a single-farm honey micro-lot from Finca La Bolsa in Guatemala and a washed Hambella from Getachew Zekele in Guji, Ethiopia. The café pairs the coffee with pastries, snacks and natural wine and sells bags in sizes up to five pounds. It opens Wednesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Brewing espresso — roasted in-house.
