About Chugach Mountain Roasters
Chugach Mountain Roasters on Spenard Road is an Anchorage specialty coffee café run by the family-owned roaster of the same name.
It sits in Spenard near Ted Stevens International Airport. Owners Kerry McCourt and Lyle Kass started roasting in a friend's garage and then in a corner of a neighborhood restaurant before building their own space. The café serves house-roasted espresso and coffee, and a modern garage door opens onto a patio. The roaster uses biodegradable wares and packaging, including compostable single-use pour-overs. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
