About Black Cup Coffee

Black Cup on East Benson Boulevard is an Anchorage specialty coffee café run by the local roaster Black Cup, the successor to Cafe del Mundo.

Cafe del Mundo was founded in Anchorage in 1975 and took the Black Cup name in 2015, under a motto about extraordinary coffee served black. The café serves pour-overs and espresso drinks from Black Cup's own roasts, made on a 1953 Probat drum roaster. A pastry case and breakfast items are on offer, and bags of coffee are sold. It opens weekdays from 6 a.m. and weekends from 7 a.m., closing at 7 p.m., or 6 p.m. on Sundays.
