About PHILOCOFFEA 201
PHILOCOFFEA is a specialty coffee roaster based in Funabashi in Chiba, founded by Tetsu Kasuya, the first Asian World Brewers Cup champion. Kasuya won the title in 2016 and devised the 4:6 Method, a pour-over technique that controls flavour through set ratios.
The company ships beans within two weeks of roasting and organises them by roast level, origin and flavour. It also sells dip-style coffee pouches, gear and bottled coffee.
It runs six locations, including shops in Omotesando, Funabashi and Narashino, and its own roastery.
