About Exo Roast Co
Exo Roast Co. is a Tucson specialty coffee roaster founded by Chris Byrne and Doug Smith, who learned to roast in Portland before returning to Arizona.
Exo roasts on a Probat at its North 6th Avenue café and buys from all major growing regions, but Mexico is its favorite origin. It holds direct-trade relationships in Oaxaca, Chiapas, Colima, Puebla and Veracruz and has been developing a near-shoring project to truck coffee up from Mexico itself instead of shipping it.
Roasts are medium-light, developed to bring out brown sugar notes. Beans are sold at Exo's two Tucson locations and through the Food Conspiracy Co-op.
