About Cata Coffee
Cata Coffee is a Singapore specialty coffee roaster founded in 2016 by Marian Aguilar, who was raised in Venezuela, and her husband Han.
Marian's family were green coffee producers in the Andes, and the roastery positions itself between farmers and drinkers, championing producer histories and traceability over quality scores alone. Its name is Spanish for a tasting session, reflecting its focus on evaluating each harvest at its freshest. Cata began as an online roastery and now roasts behind a glass partition at its café on Joo Chiat Place, with weekly rotating single origins. Its coffee also appears on the bar at Pinhole Coffee Bar on Purvis Street.
