On Oxmoor Road in Homewood, Birmingham, small-batch specialty coffee roasted locally comes from the shop and roastery of Seeds Coffee Co.
The founders set out to build a third place in the Cheers sense, somewhere people gather and are known by name, and they spent time studying coffee as one of the world's most-traded commodities before opening. The roastery side turns out house coffees with playful names such as Iron Fist, Thunder Cat and the Sleepy Time decaf, alongside single origins from Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Colombia. Seeds also supplies other cafés and offices with wholesale coffee, equipment and training. In Homewood, the shop is a neighbourhood stop for a coffee or a bag of freshly roasted beans to take home.
