About Frothy Monkey
Frothy Monkey's downtown Birmingham café pours specialty coffee from its own Nashville roastery on 2nd Avenue North in the Central City district. The Nashville company opened its first café in a 12South bungalow in 2004 and began roasting in-house in 2015 as Frothy Monkey Roasting Co. This location moved into the space that was once Urban Standard, a long-loved community café run by Tomasz Wrzesien.
The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day, with beer, wine and cocktails from the bar and Wine Down Wednesday from 4pm to close. Counter service handles quick to-go orders, while a heated and cooled back patio welcomes leashed dogs. Doors open daily from 7am to 8pm.
