About Zwartekoffie - Eerlijke en direct trade koffie

Zwartekoffie is an Ede specialty coffee roaster that buys all its coffee through direct trade and roasts with biogas made from local coffee grounds.

Founder Joffrey Vermeule started the company in 2013 while living in Costa Rica, and Costa Rican farms remain the core of the range, with coffees from producers including Marie Beuchet and Gabriel Espinoza. There are also lots from Uganda and Colombia, with cupping scores and per-kilo price breakdowns published.

The coffee is sold as whole beans, ground, in compostable capsules and by subscription, in light, medium and dark roasts, with bicycle delivery in Ede.
