% Arabica is a specialty coffee roaster and café brand whose first shop opened in Kyoto's Higashiyama. Founded by Kenneth Shoji, the brand pairs minimal white cafés with espresso-focused menus and has since expanded to many countries.
% Arabica roasts its own coffee, offering blends and single origins served mainly as espresso and lattes, and sells beans by the bag in its cafés.
In Kyoto it runs shops in Higashiyama below Hokanji Temple, on the riverbank in Arashiyama and in the Fujii Daimaru department store, plus a dining space opposite the Higashiyama shop serving Japanese breakfast.
