About Alchemist The Heeren
Alchemist is a specialty coffee roaster from Singapore, founded in 2016 by Will Leow. The name refers to baristas as alchemists who unlock a coffee's potential.
It roasts medium-light to highlight natural sweetness and buys 80 to 100 single origins a year, around a fifth from less familiar regions such as Thailand, Indonesia and Yemen. Its cafés serve four single origins daily and three espresso blends.
In 2025 the brand opened its first Japanese cafés in Aoyama and Asakusa, supplied with beans roasted in Singapore, and announced plans for Taiwan.
