A Flor da Selva is a Lisbon specialty coffee roaster in Madragoa, roasting over wood fire at Travessa do Pasteleiro since 1950.
Manuel Alves Monteiro, from Paderne in Melgaço, founded the business in 1950 as a tea, coffee and spice shop on Rua da Esperança and installed a wood-fired roaster at Travessa do Pasteleiro in 1950–51. A German Probat G120 wood-fired roaster followed in 1972 to raise capacity.
The third generation took over in 2017 and moved the house towards specialty coffee. Metro construction forced a temporary move in 2023–24, after which the roastery returned to its founding site. It sells single-origin coffees alongside its traditional range.
