About Fermata Specialty Coffee
Fermata is a neighbourhood specialty coffee café on Estrada de Benfica in Lisbon, opened on 23 December 2025.
It is run by Brazilian-born Alessandra Modzeleski, who previously worked in journalism, design and technology, together with her husband. Rather than one house roaster, Fermata rotates coffees from Olisipo, Filtrô and Caseta in what it calls an almost laboratory-like approach. The food menu includes a ham and cheese melt, toasts with goat cheese or smoked salmon, homemade cheese bread with guava, and yoghurt with granola, with bread from Massa Mãe.
