5A is the Stranmillis outpost of General Merchants, a specialty coffee shop and brunch spot on Lockview Road in south Belfast. Long known locally as the café with no name, the small site has been part of the General Merchants group since 2013 and draws a steady crowd from the university area, so seats are often at a premium.
Coffee is served as espresso, V60 or batch brew, with bakes from local bakers Manmade, Check Out My Buns and Fera Bakery on the counter and a brunch menu running through breakfast and lunch. Outdoor seating, vegan options, decaf and alternative milks are all available, and children are welcome.
